At the time of writing this article, the current player’s stat on Steam shows us 72,975 for New World while it peaked at 117,504. Its all-time peak is 913,027. Other websites that track MMO-population of games like New World will show boosted stats. These stats are wrong as they consider every account made in the game rather than just active ones....

The latest faction that has been revealed for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 are the Newcomers, who welcome the academically minded to join their blood cult. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have at least six DLC fighters, and four of them have already been revealed - Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros., Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, and Banjo-Kazooie. Nintendo has announced it’ll be holding the latest edition of its semi-regular Indie World presentation showcases tomorrow evening. As announced via Twitter, the 20 minute programme will offer up new info and announcements for several independent titles coming to the Nintendo Switch over the next few months. Hello Games has dropped another huge update for space exploration adventure No Man’s Sky, named the Sentinel update. The latest chapter centres around overhauling the game’s combat system. It includes the addition of three new Sentinel Drone enemies, that you’ll be able to encounter on your expeditions. Combat Drones use a variety of weapons, Repair Drones do…exactly as they sound, and Summoner Drones call in waves of reinforcements. Get through all of them and you might face off against the new high-level Sentinel threat, the Hardframe Battle Mech....

NPD just released their monthly North America numbers for January 2010 and there were definitely a few surprises. On the software side, the Nintendo Wii continued its sales supremacy by taking five of the top ten spots. Leading the way was New Super Mario Bros.Wii, which sold over 650,000 copies, despite being released in November 2009. Mass Effect 2 also made an impressive debut by selling 572,100 copies in only six days, and Army of Two: The 40th Day made a better than expected debut, selling 246,500 copies for the Xbox 360....

Almost a full year on from its Nintendo Switch release, a new PC Steam version of Monster Hunter Rise is out - at last letting us push past the fixed limits of an already superb Switch version. Higher resolutions, smoother higher frame-rates, and a suite of graphics options all play to PC’s strengths as you’d expect, of course - as well as ultrawide monitor support and voice chat. Capcom has revealed some new information on upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Monster Hunter Rise, including detailing the game’s new Rampage missions and announcing a new, second demo will be out at the end of this week. Rampage missions then are when a horde of angry monsters attack your hub of Kamura Village.
