Last year, developer Eremite Games announced its first PC game in the form of Against the Storm, a “roguelite city builder with beavers, lizards, and everlasting rain.” A recent release date trailer shown during gamescom 2021 revealed that the game would make its way to the Epic Games Store on October 18. Square Enix and People Can Fly have finally resolved that pesky Outriders inventory wipe glitch. Sort of. Square Enix announced today that a patch to prevent the glitch is now available. However, the team is still working on restoring inventories for those who were affected by the problem. In any case, after more than a week of inventory wipes, we’re just glad to know it won’t happen anymore. Square Enix revealed that a new patch on Steam, Epic, PlayStation, and Xbox will ensure that no more inventories are lost....

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is out in just over a month, and PlayStation has released some gameplay footage showing off what we can expect once we get our hands on it. The first game in Sony’s marquee series not to feature Nathan Drake, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, sees Chloe Frazer (first introduced in Uncharted 2) and Nadine Ross (Uncharted 4 debut) in the title’s starring roles. The Uncharted standalone game was once planned to be DLC before developer Naughty Dog decided it couldn’t contain the story in mere DLC, and opted to go the popular spin-off, smaller game route....

SCS Software is building on its longest-running simulator by adding to a recently-introduced feature. The new 1.43 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 will include new viewpoints across the map, coming to a total of 35 new locations in all. The new viewpoints are being pinned in different locales, “from cities and ports, to industrial areas”. With this new feature, the developer is actively inviting players to rediscover the map “from a different perspective”....

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U – and potentially NX too – will be so different to what we’ve come to expect from a Zelda title that it will be like eating fish and chips when you’re expecting sushi, series producer Eiji Aonuma has said. Aonuma told Famitsu that although things have been “busy” the game “has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier. That means things are progressing well....

The next-generation Xbox Series X, which was unveiled at The Game Awards, in all its daft-named glory, is actually called the Xbox—the “Series X” part is just a variant, like the “S” or the “X” is now. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is due for another wave of DLC tracks. Nintendo has announced that the second bundle will contain eight courses. These will be available on August 4th. And they will form two new Grands Prix, of four tracks each. These will be called the Turnip Cup and the Propeller Cup. Obviously. Saying that I’ve had high hopes for NieR: Automata is a bit of an understatement. NieR itself was a tremendously weird game, and the prospect of seeing what came after was a very, very exciting one. In fact, I went through and finished NieR: Automata on the PlayStation 4 a week or so ago. I know, I know. I’m sorry. In my defence, it is a good game. It’s the sort of good game that some people are going to hate, and some will wonder why on Earth anyone thinks it’s good; it’s going to be divisive, and I’ll be discussing that in the full review....

Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins — the most popular streamer on Twitch — has signed an exclusivity deal to stream on Microsoft’s streaming platform, Mixer, as announced by the streamer on Twitter. In the announcement video, Ninja held a mock press conference where he addressed a room full of fake journalists, and said, ‘I know this may come as a shock to many of you, but, as of today, I will be streaming exclusively on Mixer....

It seems that Nintendo is in no rush to release its first Direct in 2020, as the company has been directly sending out a roadmap of upcoming Nintendo Switch games to fans. Nintendo has changed how it announces games since the launch of the Switch, as the majority of the biggest titles for the system have been released within the same year as they were revealed. There are a few exceptions to this of course, such as Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, and the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but Nintendo has been good about not announcing games that are too far out from being released....
