Infinity Ward has added a new playlist to its game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, titled Dirty Old House Boat. The name for the playlist references each of the three maps which it’s comprised of, the “Dirty Old” part of the name referencing Rust, the word “House” for Modern Warfare’s original map, Shoot House, and “Boat” for Shipment, since it takes place in a shipyard. Capcom has confirmed that the upcoming PC release of Monster Hunter Rise will be on par with the Switch version—including all the latter’s post release content—from day one. The studio reassured fans of the news via their Steam page (spotted by Eurogamer). “When Monster Hunter Rise launches on Steam, it will include all of the content up to Ver.3.6.1 of the Nintendo Switch version.” They added: “we are also planning to synch the content with the Nintendo Switch version at the end of February 2022”....

The next instalment in the BioShock franchise is reportedly in production at an undisclosed 2K studio, according to Kotaku. While the source article is predominantly focused on the turbulent development of Mafia III, the report explicitly mentions development of a top-secret project by the codename Parkside, which is allegedly a new BioShock game. If true, this would be the first all-original title in the series since 2013. One Kotaku source claims that the team behind Parkside is keeping numbers small for the time being to avoid overcrowding....

Two new Halo books, including one which promises to bring together Halo canon from all forms of media for the first time, have been announced by Egmont Publishing. Halo Mythos: A Guide to the Story of Halo will publish in October 2016, claiming to be a comprehensive, authoritative guide to the story of the Halo universe. Chung ‘blitzchung’ Ng Wai, a professional Hearthstone player and native to Hong Kong, called for the liberation of Hong Kong, and stated his support for the protests. Blizzard Entertainment did not take kindly to the statements. In what became a huge controversy, Blizzard suspended blitzchung for a year, suspended his winnings, and fired the casters who interviewed him… and as is typical on the internet, received immediate backlash from the community....
This week’s New Xbox One Experience update will remove the option to navigate the dashboard using Kinect-based gestures, Microsoft has revealed. The feature, which has been present in Xbox One since the console’s launch, allowed Kinect owners to operate the dashboard by using their hands, physically swiping through menus and selecting options by raising their hand. But its usage was “very, very low”, Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra admits, leading to the platform holder’s decision to drop it in the next update....
