Following the release of Version 2.4 of Genshin Impact, developer MiHoYo released a new character named Yun Jin, who is an opera singer. Since Yun Jin’s art is based on traditional Chinese opera, the development team hired a professional performer, Yang Yang from the Shanghai Jinju Theatre Company. She performs the character’s singing voice in all versions of the game. The video includes insight from several developers on top of Yang Yang herself, and it’s very interesting....

Sadly that’s about all there is to go on right now, although considering we haven’t even seen a Splinter Cell game on PS4 and Xbox One yet, we’d like to think that Ubisoft does have something in the pipeline. Whether we’ll see it this year is anyone’s guess, though. That’s not to say the French publisher has been silent in regards to more of Sam Fisher’s stealthy escapades. Last year at E3, Ubisoft chief Yves Guillemot teased, ‘I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that....

Three new images showing off the protagonist of Vampyr, the new title from Life is Strange studio DontNod, have been released by publisher Focus Home Interactive. In Vampyr players control Dr. Jonathan Reid, a newly formed vampire who is torn between the Hippocratic Oath he swore as a doctor, and the bloodthirsty need to kill. Set amidst the Spanish Flu of London 1918, Dr Reid’s first thought is to help those suffering, but you’ll need to feed on people to survive....

Bandai Namco has announced that Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has had a release date confirmed for November 2017. Ni No Kuni II follows the story of Evan, the boy king of Ding Dong Dell, building his own kingdom after being deposed in a coup, and features character design from Yoshiyuki Momose, a former artist at Studio Ghibli. So it’ll be gorgeous, then. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is releasing on November 10 2017 for PS4 and PC....

Nintendo is having another crack at virtual reality gaming (remember the Virtual Boy from the 90s? Yeah, not its brightest moment) thanks to the latest Toy-Con Kit for the Labo. Arriving on April 12, the Nintendo Labo VR Kit will offer up six new Toy-Con concoctions, and comes in two flavours: a Starter Set and the full VR Kit, priced at $39.99 and $79.99, respectively. The VR Kit’s main function is to turn the Switch into a pair of VR goggles, although you can do a lot more than that....

Nintendo has used the Xbox adaptive controller as a starting point for its own accessibility controller. That’s according to ex-Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé, who hopes the company was still developing the platform-agnostic controller. Xbox’s controller was used “as a jumping-off point to create something that would be platform-agnostic and adaptable by any consumer,” he told Inverse. No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games has released another extensive update for the game today, with the new Expeditions update offering new time-limited missions that can be undertaken for special rewards among a whole host of other new features. The new titular mode comprises of events that can be started from fixed points in the universe, and will encourage the entire NMS community to play together in shared journeys. Each expedition will be structured around a series of Milestones that can be completed in any order to unlock a whole multitude of rewards....

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King was one of the most well received RPGs from the early 2000s. Releasing on PlayStation 2, and later on mobile devices, the game by developer Level 5 swept us away across land and sea to cure a king and princess of varying degrees of mutations and save the land from an evil tyrant. Its heroes have even made appearances in other games. Today, publisher Square Enix announced that you will be able to celebrate the adventures of “The Hero,” protagonist of Cursed King (or the Guv as he was lovingly called), with his costume, included in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age....

Successfully funded Kickstarter title Home Free, in which players take control of a dog lost in a randomly generated city, is coming to PS4, developer Kevin Cancienne of Makeroca has announced. In the game players will need to find food, a safe place to sleep, and friends – both human and canine – with the eventual goal to find a home. The Kickstarter campaign has just over two weeks remaining and has raised $70,000 – only $10k away from NPC cats being implemented....

Square Enix and People Can Fly have released their latest Outriders Broadcast for their upcoming RPG shooter, this time focusing on the game’s demo which is due to land later today. In case you missed the earlier infoblast, the demo will comprise of the game’s opening chapters, taking you all the way up to the first battle with rival Gauss, and all progress from said demo transfers over to the full game....

The Overwatch 1.41 patch is now live on the PTR mode. Labeled the “remaster” patch by Blizzard, it brings changes to 13 of the game’s heroes. Some will receive buffs, others get a little nerfed. Some changes may not make it into the actual build of the game, as patch tests don’t always reflect the final update. However, some of the changes look rather good, especially if you’re a Lucio main....

Minecraft Dungeons, Mojang’s ARPG/dungeon crawler, is scheduled to launch in April. Yet despite it being just about a month away from launch, surprisingly little is known about Minecraft Dungeons. Perhaps in an effort to start sharing more information, Mojang and Microsoft put out a new teaser trailer. The short trailer is gameplay-focused, offering a first look at Minecraft Dungeons’ gear system and some of the game’s “Unique” rarity gear. The trailer is just under 30 seconds long and starts by showing off Minecraft Dungeons’ loot menu....

It’s very rare to see a modern title that tries to replicate games like Prince of Persia and Out of This World. Sure, there are puzzle platformers like Limbo and Inside, but those never really gave me the same kind of feeling that the classics did. Ministry of Broadcast is very successful in that regard. But it also aptly demonstrated to me that I’m glad that more games don’t ape the classics....

Developer Milestone has dropped a trailer for its upcoming motorbike racer Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 5. The trailer focuses on the game’s new Rider Shape System in Career Mode. Just as other racers task you with keeping your vehicle in one piece, you’ll have to afford the same care to your riders too. Injuries to your racers will impact their performance. A dislocated shoulder could effect your turn control, while a bruised arm might stop you braking as effectively....

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is receiving VR support, but not at all in a way that you would expect. A “next-generation attraction” based on the expansion will be coming to Universal Studios Japan. It’s time to save up for that trip abroad, because Universal Studios Japan stated on its site that the Iceborne VR attraction will be coming to the park in spring 2020. The attraction will allow park-goers to participate in realistic hunting scenarios in VR....

Officially billed as the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, the 2011 installment of Mortal Kombat has recently been removed from the Steam storefront. According to its Steam page, the ninth installment in the mainline Mortal Kombat series was removed from sale at the request of the publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Of course, those who already have the game can still play it. However, according to an update on its official website, those who do own it will no longer have access to the “message of the day” feature....
