The treasure-hunting adventures of Nathan Drake and the rest of the beloved crew have officially come to a close, as the Naughty Dog’s co-president, Neil Druckmann, confirmed that the company has moved on from this popular franchise. During an interview with Buzzfeed, Druckmann discusses the series’ successful history, especially with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which is one of Naughty Dog’s bestselling games due to its enriching storyline, stunning graphics, and dynamic gameplay....

Fans that need more Geralt in their life are in luck. Netflix has confirmed that The Witcher has already been renewed for a second season even though the first has yet to be broadcast. The Witcher is an upcoming Netflix show that is based on the fantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowski. Outside of Poland, the series is better known for its video game adaptations developed by CD Projekt Red. The series follows Geralt of Rivia, the titular Witcher, who was trained in the art of combat and had his body mutated to make him suitable for the dangerous task of killing monsters....

First revealed in March by streaming platform Netflix, we finally have a release date for the upcoming video game-inspired anime, Tekken: Bloodline. As the latest trailer shows, fans will be able to enjoy the rise of Jin Kazama and a host of other familiar characters this August 18. From his mother’s death at the hands of Ogre to training under the guidance of Heihachi Mishima in order to get stronger to exact his revenge, Jin’s journey will see viewers meet the likes of Nina Williams, Ling Xiaoyu, Paul, Leroy, and of course, Kazuya Mishima in the King of Iron First Tournament....

Devil May Cry 5 has received a new trailer shining the spotlight on V, the third playable character in the game who looks like he’s just been booted straight out of an X Factor boy band. V is pretty unique in comparison to Dante and Nero, though, as he’s able to summon various animals during battle to dish out some serious damage. V also comes armed with a huge sword, and his hair turns white when unleashing his full powers....

Farming Simulator 19 has been getting a whole lot of exposure from its developers/publishers, lately. To add to the growing amount of media surrounding the upcoming sim, they recently dropped a brand-new gameplay trailer that shows off the whole crop farming process from start to finish. Developer DICE is readying to launch a major new update for Battlefield 2042, with the beleaguered shooter’s 4.0 release promising to deliver “400+” fixes and improvements when it arrives some time next week. Although full patch notes won’t be available until next week’s launch, DICE community manager Kevin Johnson (thanks VGC) has shared some of the release’s key features on Twitter. Attachments will, for instance, receive an overhaul in Update 4....

After many complaints from the fans of Pokémon GO, Niantic finally removed some overly common egg hatches. In order to diversify the “egg pool”, Pokémon GO’s new December 16th update has removed over 90 Pokémon that can hatch from eggs obtained via Pokéstops and Gyms. Pokémon from Charmander to Sableye can no longer be hatched. In addition, all baby Pokémon can also no longer be hatched from these eggs. Removing these Pokémon from the egg pool should make the relatively recently added Unova Pokémon easier to hatch (or at least have a greater chance of hatching)....

Square Enix has announced that an anime based on 2017 PlatinumGames action RPG NieR: Automata is in production. The company revealed the news during a Japanese livestream celebrating the game’s fifth anniversary earlier today. The anime seems as though it’ll follow similar beats to the game’s story, following a post-apocalyptic earth taken over by robots. The game’s android hero 2B will be a focus, as will the YoRHa military force....

Night in the Woods developer and co-creator Alec Holowka has died. Last week, Depression Quest creator Zoe Quinn accused Alec of abuse during their relationship. The two members of Night in the Woods’ creative team, Scott Benson and Bethany Hockenberry, cut ties with Alec following the allegations and cancelled an Infinite Ammo project. On Saturday, news of his death was reported by his sister Eileen Mary Holowka. Alec and Eileen were working together to develop a game called Project Potato....

Over the span of its short and sadistic life, Noita has killed many players many, many times. It has also released plenty of updates to improve and fix the biome-exploring roguelike. The previous major patch was the Sauna update, which did include the addition of a sauna among other things. Now Noita has released one of its biggest content updates, the Epilogue update. Epic Games has shown off the power of Unreal Engine 5 in a tech demo running on the PlayStation 5. Technical director of graphics Brian Karis and special projects art director Jerome Platteaux walked us through the new engine’s capabilities in a presentation as part of the Summer Game Fest. This adventure, though sadly not a real game, is titled Lumen in the Land of Nanite. These are the two new core technologies that will arrive for the first time in Unreal Engine 5, and Nanite is “virtualized micropolygon geometry, which frees artists to create as much geometric detail as the eye can see....

Blizzard has begun deploying audio transcription to help combat abuse and toxicity in Overwatch 2’s voice chat. Rolling out across “select countries” and currently only for those playing on PC, Blizzard says the new tech is “only for reports of disruptive behaviour” and any “temporary audio recordings” - which “no one listens to” - will be “quickly deleted after being transcribed”. “The audio transcription feature has been added with a limited rollout for PC players in select countries,” Blizzard explained via a blog post....

Activision Blizzard has confirmed Overwatch 2, which will be an “always on, always evolving” free-to-play game when it launches into early access on 4th October, will be ditching its predecessor’s lootboxes in favour of a seasonal battle pass and in-game store. That news was shared during an extended Overwatch 2 livestream this evening, primarily focused on the game’s live-service model and seasonal content plan - the latter of which, according to Overwatch 2’s game director Aaron Keller, will enable Blizzard to deliver new content to players on a more “frequent and consistent” basis compared to the original game....
