The Big N is looking to launch a revised version of the Switch during its 2019 fiscal year, which runs April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020. That’s according to a new report in Japanese publication The Nikkei (via Game Informer), which claims that the new Switch could arrive on the market as early as summer this year. As for the console itself, it’s been suggested that Ninty will be offering a slimmer frame and improved battery, and that it will focus more on the handheld aspect of the machine....
Ninja Theory’s indie action game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has a new trailer ahead of its release in August. More atmospheric than it is a gameplay demo, the Hela trailer shows protagonist Senua trapped in a nightmare. Facing off against a giant man-monster in a rainstorm, Senua gathers her strength and goes in for a hit. She’s accompanied by disembodied voices, which may in fact be Senua herself, describing her actions and thoughts....
As clocked by IGN, Austrian retailer Gameware seems to have accidentally revealed the next game in EA’s Need For Speed racing series, titled Need For Speed Heat. The site briefly listed the game with placeholder box art from Need for Speed No Limits before taking it down. Information shown on the listing is scant, and it doesn’t tell us a release date beyond a general ‘Coming 2019’ label. In a blog post called ‘Under the Hood: Turning up the Heat’ written in May, EA DICE confirmed that a new Need For Speed would arrive in late 2019, but added that we wouldn’t hear anything about it at E3....

Nintendo has partnered with Ubisoft to not only make Beyond Good and Evil 2 happen, but also make the game a Nintendo NX exclusive game in 2017, Destructoid has leaned. A document given to the website obtained by known tipster Geno – NX, Pokemon, IllumiRoom – has been backed up by a second source, suggesting the information could well be accurate. The document states the game has the working title Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers....

In fact, Oddworld Inhabitants’ Lorne Lanning has revealed that getting Oddworld: Soulstorm on PS Plus was “devastating” for the team. Chatting to Xbox Expansion Pass, Lanning said his team initially thought they would sell roughly 50k units of Oddworld: Soulstorm, and certainly no more than 100k. The studio was also looking for some financial help to keep the game alive, and as such, when Sony approached the team offering an undisclosed amount of money to put its game on PS Plus for its release month, Lanning took the deal....
Bandai Namco has unveiled One Piece Odyssey, a new RPG adaptation of the hugely popular anime and manga series, which will feature a brand-new story - plus new character and monster designs - from creator Eiichiro Oda when it comes to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC later this year. One Piece Odyssey unfolds on a mysterious island - which the Straw Hats pirate gang discover after their ship is caught in a storm - with Bandai Namco promising dungeons, quests, “wonders of a raging nature, powerful enemies, and strange encounters with island locals”....
Tracer is easily the face of Overwatch 2, appearing as the mainstay in much of the game’s promotional material and lore. Former Naughty Dog developer Lucas Pope has spilled a few interesting details on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, revealing the game’s controls were originally heavily inspired by Tomb Raider before being revamped six months before launch. Don’t believe the title. Never Give Up, from developers Massive Monster and Tasselfoot, is a platformer that wants you to fail early and often. It will take you to your breaking point and revel in delight if you do decide to, in fact, give up. But that is part of the fun and what makes the game so easy to enjoy while at the same time, be so inexplicably frustrating....
