The 2012 anime Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse has been for many western Muv-Luv fans the first contact with the franchise. Yet, the 2013 visual novel was never localized, until now. On July 20, this will finally change with the release on Steam of Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse Remastered, giving English speakers a chance to fully enjoy this relevant part of the Muv-Luv multiverse. Yet, even so many years after its original release, not many fully know how Total Eclipse was born, and the philosophy behind its creation....

2K has released a new trailer for its forthcoming title NBA 2K18, showcasing a wide range of shots, three-pointers, flailing arms and plenty of sweat and emotion. At Gamescom, a 4K gameplay video of Need For Speed: Heat shows off day and night racing, the suitably speedy new cars, and the intense cop chases coming to the next game (via IGN). Palm City looks very pretty, with hefty helpings of neon lights and woozy sunlight to overclock the visuals as drivers vie for a podium position. Even crashes are quite the spectacle, and it seems that you can obliterate nearly every environmental asset on the boulevards....

Neo Cab is a neon-drenched ride through a near-future take on the gig economy, with a thoughtful story, sharply written characters, and an impressively realized setting. As this perfectly-paced game hurtled toward its memorably depressing conclusion, I was reminded of Hemingway’s, The Sun Also Rises, because, for the pair of friends at the heart of Neo Cab’s story, the more things change, the more they stay the same Survive While Uncovering The Truth Set in the fictional California city of Los Ojos, Neo Cab follows Lina, a human driver for the titular Uber-like company in a world overtaken by Capra, a massive tech company whose self-driving cars have radically reshaped the market....

Bee and PuppyCat has finally received a new trailer showing off how the series is shaping up for its Netflix debut later this year. The show has garnered a cult following, and fans have been anxiously awaiting new episodes following the first season that was released on YouTube and VRV back in 2014. Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for their upcoming Souls-like Code Vein. The trailer announces the release of the demo for Code Vein which players can download now and try out now. Code Vein puts an anime skin on the Dark Souls formula. The game seems keen on capturing the style of the super-difficult Dark Souls gameplay, all of the way down to the big weapons, the twisting level design, and the gothic horror tone....

A brand new kickstarter-funded documentary from director, Joshua Tsui, is set to premiere at SXSW Film Festival next month, and it looks to be something that would interest almost anyone who has ever walked into an arcade before. Insert Coin will highlight the rise and fall of one of the most influential video game developers in the medium’s history: Midway Games Inc. In the 1990s, Eugene Jarvis assembled a team of developers in order to bring live action to the world of arcade games....

The latest character to be revealed as a member of the growing Dragon Ball FighterZ roster is Trunks, as revealed in the latest issue of Jump magazine (via Siliconera). Trunks joins Goku, Gohan, Cell, Majin Buu, Frieza and Vegeta as a playable character in the much-anticipated fighting game, coming next year. According to the manga magazine, a closed beta is also set to occur prior to the game’s release. More information on that will be announced later on this year, apparently....

The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake draws ever closer and Square Enix has released a new piece of key art depicting one of the final moments of the game, where the members of AVALANCHE and their allies look out at the world beyond Midgar. In Final Fantasy VII, the Midgar section of the game only encompassed the first few hours of the first disc. Final Fantasy VII Remake is a retelling of the Midgar section of the story, but it has been expanded to the length of a full game....

Disappointing news, Ranters. It seems the long awaited new batch of games for XBLA’s Game Room has been delayed. And not just delayed for a day. Daniel Maher, Europe’s Xbox Live Editor, broke the news in a tweet: Delayed until further notice? When’s that gonna be? I was all set to play Pitfall. The US Xbox team had this to add: “The latest batch of Game Room content has also been delayed until further notice - I’ll let you know once a new date is confirmed....

A new Fallout 4 mod which features extensive volumetric lighting will be released on Friday, only this mod is the creation of GPU maker Nvidia. Titled Vault 1080, the mod comes from Nvidia’s Lightspeed studios and makes use of volumetric lighting in ways not seen in the regular game, whilst also casting more realistic shadows thanks to HBAO+ and ambient occlusion. Nvidia says Vault 1080 “uses its terrifyingly realistic light and shadow as the core of its experience....

Going into the night, the odds-on favorite from office voting pools to Las Vegas casinos was Sam Mendes’ sterling, if somewhat traditional, World War I epic, 1917. Yet come the Oscars, it was Bong Joon-ho’s Korean thriller about income inequality, Parasite, that took home top prizes for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay....

Xbox has confirmed that People Can Fly’s latest shooter-RPG Outriders will be heading to Xbox Game Pass on launch, following a tease over the weekend. As the announcement on Xbox Wire confirms, the game will be available on Console and on Android phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the same day the game launches. A tease from the official Game Pass Twitter account teased the news thanks to a cheeky “leaked” email post that spoke of a “mysterious signal” and referencing an “anomaly” — both direct references to the game’s plot....

Most people who used shotguns as their primary weapons while playing the Outriders demo noticed that there was something off about the amount of ammo they contained. The problem got much worse when they started finding auto shotguns. I’m now a dozen hours into the game’s campaign as a shotgun-toting Trickster and, I’m sad to say, that the issues haven’t gotten any easier. If anything, they’re worse. If you haven’t been focusing on shotguns in Outriders, then this might be news to you....

Overwatch 2 can be an exciting game if you have a precise aim for headshots. Getting there takes time and loads of practice which may not be an option for some players. But you don’t have to miss out on the fun of OW2 if you have a bad aim – there are quite a few characters that you can play as and be an important part of the team without asking others to carry you....
