Just two days ago, Sam Lake, the creative director at Remedy Entertainment, announced that Alan Wake Remastered will be available on the Epic Games Store sometime this fall. Bungie just revealed the latest Season 9 activity coming to Destiny 2. It’s called “The Sundial,” and it will pit guardians against the Cabal once more as a 6-player matchmade activity. The Sundial will pick up where The Undying Mind strike left off. In the Strike, guardians defeated the titular, Vex boss and changed the course of history. Now, the flow of time on Mercury has been destroyed by the Red Legion, an elite Cabal force that used to serve under the self-proclaimed Cabal Emperor, Dominus Ghaul, whom guardians killed at the end of the Red War (Destiny 2’s original storyline)....

This past Wednesday, IGN posted the first extended look at Sonic Frontiers’ gameplay. Unsurprisingly, this video has left fans quite polarized. IGN said that it had more Sonic Frontiers information to reveal, however, and it did just that with today’s combat showcase. Although the basic act of moving around the open world looked fun, that first gameplay footage showed a distracting number of rough edges. Sonic’s animations looked stiff and awkward, objects and environmental assets popped in regularly, and the floating grind rails placed above the realistic environment appeared haphazard and out of place....

Pokemon GO has recently come under fire after developer Niantic shut off access to third-party applications such as map tools which helped players locate nearby Pokemon. Fans weren’t happy, many requesting refunds on their in-app purchases. However, it turns out Niantic made the decision to block third-party tools to enable the roll out of the game in additional territories. The studio explains in a new blog post that these third-party apps were hammering the game’s servers with requests, as such making server management very difficult....

Nintendo has launched a subscription service in Japan, called Wild Care, which is effectively like insurance for the Switch. The subscription costs (via VGC) 200 yen per month (which is £1.20), or 2,000 yen per year (£12). Hello Games has revealed a crossover between its open universe space exploration title No Man’s Sky and Bioware’s space RPG Mass Effect, with the latter’s famous Normandy SR1 ship appearing in the former for a limited time. The guest appearance is all thanks to the game’s community unlocking the fully explorable ship by completing the Beachhead Expedition, and means all players can claim it for themselves for a limited time by logging in and completing the mission too before the end of the month....
