Neon White didn’t make much of an impression on me when I first heard about it. It’s a combination of things I’m pretty lukewarm on. Earlier today, a brand-new Sonic Frontiers trailer was released on the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel. A new piece of artwork for Uther Lightbringer is available in the Blizzard Gear Shop. In fact, fans may recognize it as the artwork is from the Afterlives: Bastion animated short, which premiered last night at Gamescom. In the short, we see Uther’s last moments as he was slain by his student, Arthas, during the evens in Warcraft III. We now know that Uther was sent to Bastion, an area of the Shadowlands – World of Warcraft‘s afterlife, which we’ll be visiting in the upcoming expansion....
Tyrone Rodriguez, founder of video game developer publisher Nicalis, has responded to allegations of exploitation of its employees, ghosting, and racism at the company (via Kotaku). Earlier this week, a report by Kotaku spoke to four external developers and seven former Nicalis employees who recalled instances of exploitative action, unprofessionalism, and abusive language they had experienced while working with Rodriguez. Audrey Leprince, co-founder of The Game Bakers, said that the studio wanted to work with Nicalis to port Furi to consoles but encountered resistance....

Shuntaro Furukawa, president of Nintendo, has apologised for the issues with the Joy-Con controllers for the Switch (via Nintendo Everything). “Regarding the Joy-Con, we apologize for any trouble caused to our customers,” said Furukawa in the company’s annual general meeting of shareholders. “We are continuing to aim to improve our products, but as the Joy-Con is the subject of a class-action lawsuit in the United States and this is still a pending issue, we would like to refrain from responding about any specific actions....
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has found itself a place on the official Zelda series timeline, thanks to some minor revisions from platform holder Nintendo. Look out, No Man’s Sky detractors. The game’s just been given a huge update that may just change your mind. The decrepit older gamers among us will remember a time when video games were actually released as complete packages. There was no DLC, none of those dreaded microtransactions, no huge patches to fix issues that shouldn’t even have existed in the first place… what a time to be alive it was....
