It seems like with each passing day comes a new trailer for Crysis 2, each one exploring a different facet of the very well rounded package. For those who might not have had the best gaming rig to run the first Crysis, fear not, because this trailer fills in all the important gaps, and should get gamers pumped for the sequel. While the Crysis 2 story trailer did its job to set the scene for the game, this new trailer tells how hero Alcatraz came by the iconic nanosuit....

The Mass Effect series has quickly become one of the top gaming franchises of this generation. Both games were a unique combination of a sci-fi shoot-em-up and a western RPG, helping to bring in fans of both genres and see what each is missing out on. The developers at Sabotage Studio love to release small clips of their upcoming RPG Sea of Stars in the weekends, and today we get a new one. The new ship shows a rather peculiar way of healing one’s allies, apparently available to Garl. When friends are under the weather, what’s better than giving them a healthy sandwich? Nex Machina is the new top-down action shooter from Housemarque (Resogun, Dead Nation) and arcade legend Eugene Jarvis (Defender, Robotron and Smash TV), coming to PS4 in Q2 2017. “A few months after the release of Resogun we bumped into Eugene Jarvis at DICE Summit 2014, where he received a Pioneer award for his contribution to the gaming industry,” explained Mikael Haveri, Head of Self-Publishing at Housemarque. “Eugene, creator of arcade cult classics such as Defender, Robotron and Smash TV, has always been one of our major sources of inspiration for the kind of games we are famous for....

Niantic is using Pokémon GO to encourage blood donations in Japan. As spotted by Pokémon GO Hub, a new promotion that started on 23rd March across the Koshinetsu region is turning blood donation locations into PokéStops in collaboration with the Japanese Red Cross Society. These PokéStops will allow players to receive special gifts designed around Chansey, known as Lucky in Japanese, as well as stock up on items like Poké Balls and other tools....

Today Square Enix released a new trailer of the NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition for Nintendo Switch. The trailer is all about 2B, also known as YoRHa No.2 Type B, showing her in a number of situations that veterans of the game will remember, including both gameplay and cutscenes. Of course, the trailer is also a good chance to see what the game looks like on Nintendo Switch....

Nintendo may have made a U-Turn regarding its stance of Virtual Reality, telling investors this morning that it is “looking at VR”. The platform holder didn’t elaborate on its comment. So Nintendo (at the briefing) just said no change in plans for the smartphone app roll out. Nintendo’s New York Store will be ready to take pre-orders for the Switch from 9am on January 13, the morning after Nintendo reveals all on the new system. “A limited quantity of pre-orders for the #NintendoSwitch will begin on 1/13 at 9AM while supplies last at #NintendoNYC,” Tweeted the store. Presumably stores worldwide and online will begin taking pre-orders for Nintendo Switch shortly after the system’s price and release date is revealed during tomorrow’s live broadcast which begins at 4am....

At Tokyo Game Show, Nioh 2 gameplay and story features were unveiled in a demonstration and interview, revealing online co-op play, character creation, and Yokai soul superpowers (via DualShockers). In an interview with 4Gamer, Nioh 2 producer Fumihiko Yasuda explained a little of the story of the next game, and what players have to look forward to. The hero of Nioh 2 is a mercenary, who after meeting the merchant Toukichirou, will assume one shared name with their new associate: Toyotomi Hideyoshi....

No Man’s Sky has changed immensely since its launch. During that time, it wasn’t even realistically possible to bump into another player. Compare that to today’s multiplayer functions, the new VR capabilities, and ‘Beyond’; the progress is astounding. But, with progress comes endless bugs and therefore bug fixes. ‘Beyond’ is the 2.0 update for No Man’s Sky. This update sought to bring more features, new gameplay elements, and fix any lingering bugs....

Developer Hello Games has released a new update for intergalatic exploration game No Man’s Sky that adds a bunch of new creatures to the game as well as the ability to adopt, raise and train companions to accompany you on your space adventures. The huge Companions update allows players to adopt up to six companions at once with slots being purchased by Nanites. Some of your tools can also be used by the creatures and help you with tasks like mining....

The Leviathan Expedition is now available in No Man’s Sky, and it includes some whacky new additions like space whales and a time-loop mechanic for players to enjoy. No Man’s Sky was initially criticized for its lack of content at launch. After many years of consistent and significant updates to the game, it’s safe to say that this hasn’t been an issue for a while. In the official update post, Hello Games goes into great detail about the new additions to the game....

Traditionally, November is that time of the year when companies go all-out. Big releases and blockbusters start flying out, just in time for Thanksgiving. This year is no different. The PC game releases in November 2021 include Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, Forza Horizon 5, and Jurassic World Evolution 2. We’ll also see major franchises getting remasters or re-releases with add-ons, such as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition....

Last week I watched Il Buco, or The Hole, the latest film from the Italian director Michelangelo Frammartino. It’s mesmerising. With very little in the way of dialogue, Frammartino tells the story of a 1960s spelunking expedition that explored one of the deepest cave systems in the world.

Today marks the Obon Festival in Japan, a day where people pray for and honor the dead. The festival’s tradition is rooted in praying for souls to make a safe trip to the afterlife. As revealed today, Square Enix has stated that Oninaki took much of its inspiration from this very festival. Oninaki is out on Aug. 22 Last week, we offered up our demo impressions for Oninaki. The fact that the game deals with themes of death and the afterlife is ever-present throughout....

With all the hot, great announcements coming out of The Game Awards 2019, we didn’t expect to get bummed out. Ori and the Will of the Wisps has been delayed. Alright, that’s not as big of a bummer as it sounds, especially since the delay is only about a month. Then again, we still have to wait one extra month to experience this gorgeous game. The new release date for Ori and the Will of the Wisps is March 11, 2020....

Developer People Can Fly and publisher Square Enix have deployed the first major patch to Outriders fixing a bunch of launch issues and re-enabling cross-play between console and PC, but are warning of increased accounts of an inventory wipe bug the studio is now prioritising to fix ASAP. A tweet on the game’s official account says that “additional preventative measures” have been applied onto the game’s backend that the team hope should prevent against a bug that’s seen players finding their inventory stripped of all their hard-won items....
