Today, Namco Bandai outlined their plans for their Tales of RPG series at its annual media briefing in Tokyo today. Namco Tales Studio General Manager Makoto Yoshidumi announced that the theme of the series this year will be “Tales With”. The theme stands for the togetherness the studio wants to feel when making their games with not only their developers, but also press, distributors, game players, and everything in-between. In this year’s fresh lineup of titles is Phantasia Narikiri Dungeon X for the PSP, which is set to be released on August 5th....

The National Videogame Arcade, the UK videogame museum based in Nottingham that also houses the British Games Institute, has announced that it is to relocate from its Nottingham based home to move to Sheffield after it concludes its summer schedule. Making the announcement on the NVA website, the decision to relocate from its home since 2015 was made due to the NVA ‘finding it increasingly hard to work in our lovely but eccentric listed building....

A lot of indie games catch flak because they play like walking simulators where nothing really happens. I understand that completely, and I find some of those games boring and pointless myself. Still, sometimes a game’s concept sounds so refreshing that I have to admire its originality, even if the game turns out to fail in the execution. Nauticrawl: 20,000 Atmospheres is one such game, though I hope it succeeds. It reminds me a bit of Event[0], which was a weird concept that turned out great in the end....

Stylish neon-noir narrative adventure Cloudpunk will be releasing on consoles this October, publisher Merge Games has announced. Releasing on PC back in April, the game puts you in the shoes of Rania, a delivery driver for the not-so-legit Cloudpunk delivery company on her first night on the job in the cyberpunk city of Nivalis and its many denziens of human, AI and android persuasions. Soon enough, she finds herself embroiled in a mystery with far-reaching implications and it’s up to her to solve it and make it through the night....

A game that was supposed to have launched on Xbox Game Pass is still not available for download. Tactics game Phoenix Point was supposed to launch simultaneously on the Epic Game Store, the Microsoft store, and on Game Pass. However, the game currently isn’t up for purchase or download on the Xbox One. Phoenix Point is developed by XCOM series creator Julian Gollop. This is a tactics game much in the same vein as the modern entries in the XCOM franchise....

Following the reveal of the returning DLC character Testament for Guilty Gear – Strive-, Arc System Works released a dedicated video guide. Popular content creator and streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has been banned from Apex Legends, but he doesn’t know why. Ninja attempted to jump into a game of Apex Legends live on Mixer (his new streaming platform after moving from Twitch) but discovered that he could not access the servers. At present, it is unclear why Ninja was banned by Apex Legends. Because it has been so long since Blevins has played the Battle Royale game on stream, there aren’t a lot of videos to try to search for clues....

Nintendo will release the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System in stores on November 11, the platform holder has announced. The system is a replica of the classic NES only in mini form and with the inclusion of an HDMI port for connecting to modern displays. Also included are 30 built in games, each with suspend points so you can pick up where you left off. The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System comes packaged with an HDMI cable, a USB cable for powering the system....

Nintendo Switch “will probably have a similar impact” to the Wii, Ubisoft’s managing director of French Studios (Annecy, Montpellier, and Paris), Xavier Poix has said. Ubisoft has so far announced it is bringing Just Dance 2017, Rayman Legends Definitive Edition and Steep to Switch. “These three games are just the beginning. We will share more about other exciting projects for the Nintendo Switch at a later date,” says Poix. Poix was full of praise for the Nintendo Switch....

Nvidia has reportedly been “completely compromised” by a cyber attack. As reported by The Telegraph, parts of the graphics chip business - America’s largest microchip company - have been offline for two days. A malicious network intrusion has affected Nvidia’s internal systems, including email and developer tools, which have suffered outages since last week. It’s so far unclear whether any data has been stolen from Nvidia - be it internal data or customer data - or if the attack has been solely to disrupt systems....

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, a ground-up remake of the much-loved original Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, will launch for Xbox One via the [email protected] publishing program on March 27, Oddworld Inhabitants has announced. The game’s release marks the first appearance of an Oddworld title on the Xbox platform since Stranger’s Wrath excited Xbox gamers back in 2005. Developed by Just Add Water, New ‘n’ Tasty tells the tale of Abe who learns that his fellow meat factory co-workers are to be the main ingredients in the company’s next line of tasty treats....
